Faith, friendship, and hard work to bring you the best health care.

Your personal care is in good hands with our professional and caring staff.

About Olive Branch Family Health.

Olive Branch Family Health grew from a vision, belief, and faith that two friends shared. Both ladies having deep ties to Wallowa County and repeatedly chose to turn down career offers which would have resulted in lengthy commutes and/or moving from the County both they and their husbands loved. One day, one friend approached the other and stated, "Let's open our own clinic". With shared vision of what they believed healthcare should reflect, how patients should be treated, and the overall presence and feeling they desired for the clinic to exude, Theresa and Polly continued moving forward with their plans for the new Clinic ~ Olive Branch Family Health. With much prayer, lots of hard work, and a true walk of faith, Olive Branch Family Health. and Olive Branch Pharmacy held the Grand Opening on October 18, 2010. With Theresa's love of medicine, Polly's love of business and their shared devotion to the people of Wallowa County, they have set out to offer a new option in healthcare.

Meet our friendly staff.

Laurie McNall, RN:

I have been a Wallowa County resident for 12 years; my husband is Mike McNall. In 1997, I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University Medical College of Virginia with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Nursing. I worked in a medical-surgical unit of the University Hospital for 3 years as a nursing assistant and one year as a registered nurse. After moving to Wallowa County, I worked as an RN in a clinical setting learning many aspects of clinic nursing. In July 2009, I began working as a Contract RN for the Community Health Support Program through DHS-Seniors and People with Disabilities. This position has given me insight into how people manage health and illness at home, and how caring for family members affects their lives. I am happy to be a part of the healthcare team at Olive Branch Family Health.

Margy Garten, RN:

I was born and raised in Kansas and came to the Pacific Northwest when I started training to become a registered nurse at the General Hospital in Everett three year diploma program. We trained year-round and attended classes at Everett Jr. College, in addition to hospital affiliations in pediatrics, tuberculosis and psychiatry. We gained knowledge and experience by working with our supervisory nurses at the General Hospital. I knew I was in the best possible profession for me because I loved the patient care and the teaching aspects of general health care. I went to work at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle on a medical-surgical floor right after graduation. After working there a year, I married my husband, Roy. We moved to Aberdeen, Washington, where I worked at Grays Harbor Community Hospital for a few months and then started working for a family practice clinic for six years.

My husband accepted a job in Enterprise, OR., for Boise Cascade and we moved to this location in June of 1974. After being a stay-at-home mom to our three girls for a couple of years, I started to work part time in a clinic setting with several physicians. There were many different aspects to my job, such as purchasing supplies, working with various providers, assisting with surgical procedures, doing patient teaching, well child and adult immunizations, but my favorite part of nursing remains the one-on-one patient contact.

After 34 years of nursing I retired. When Olive Branch Family Health, Inc. opened I was excited to join as a part of their healthcare team.

Janice Garrett:

I was born and raised in Enterprise and graduated from Enterprise High School. I have five children and two step sons. They have blessed me with seven grandchildren. I am married to Dean Garrett and my mother is Lois Blankinship.

Through the years I received an Oregon Cosmetology License and spent several years working as a hair dresser and I also received a C.N.A. Certificate and worked in the health care industry. I love playing with my grandchildren. Music has been my life long hobby and still is. I am thrilled to be a part of the Olive Branch Family Health team.

Theresa Russell, FNP/Clinic Owner:

Once upon a time I was a full time stay at home Mom. Those were some of the best days of my life. When my youngest child started school, I didn't know what to do, so I went back to school. Instead of returning to a degree in Speech Pathology, I started Oregon Health Sciences School of Nursing Program at Eastern Oregon University in La Grance. I had been an EMT for 12 years and the introduction to medicine was my inspiration to do more.

Those of you who know me remember that I commuted to La Grande daily for 4 years. In 1991 I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. I then went to work at Saint Mary's in Walla Walla on the medical floor. I was certified in oncology nursing, pediatrics, and on the trauma team. Three years later I left Saint Mary's to become a rural health nurse here at home. This included obstetrics, critical care, emergency room, surgery, medical and whatever hat rural health nurses wear. I worked with great nurses and enjoyed my 3 years working at home in the community I live in.

Commuting seemed to be my curse. I then decided to become a Nurse Practitioner. I again attended Oregon Health Sciences School of Nursing Masters Program at Eastern Oregon University, specializing in Family Health. I graduated in 1998 as a Family Nurse Practitioner, took my board exams and began working in a clinical setting for the next 12 years. My commuting days ended.

The opportunity to build a clinic and partner with pharmacists fell into my lap. I have never been one to turn away from adventure, so here I am at Olive Branch Family Health. This is an exciting chapter in life.

Polly DeVore, Clinic Director:

I have found the Wallowas to be quite beautiful, a slower more relaxed pace of life and have enjoyed getting to know the people that make up Wallowa County.

I am very blessed with my family. I also love nature and animals. I'm married to Jeff DeVore, RN who works as a Surgical Services Manager at Wallowa Memorial Hospital. Between he and I, we have three sons.

I have been very fortunate that my continuing life's journey has led me to varying places through-out the Pacific Northwest while working as a Director. Through-out my travels I have always remained active in elderly healthcare, volunteering my efforts through work in administration and writing grants. I hold my Degree in Business Administration. The combination of business and how it affects patients' healthcare are truly two great passions of mine.

My journey has now brought me to Wallowa County, and still actively working in the healthcare industry. I have been blessed by the opportunity to get to know many people of Wallowa County; in addition to furthering work relationships with this amazing group of talented people consisting of Olive Branch Family Health Clinic. I appreciate their hard work and dedication. I am happy our team has been able to bring this additional option for healthcare to Wallowa County. Please feel free to stop by and say hello.
